Tommy Ranieri

Tommy is a New York-raised and based theatre director and choreographer. He is someone who constantly wants to change, think in new ways and figure a lot of things out.

Credits that best represent his evolving body of work include Pippin by Roger O’Hirson and Stephen Schwartz, Here We Go by Caryl Churchill at Playwrights Horizons Downtown/NYU, The National post Off-Broadway premiere of Yen by Anna Jordan, Hedwig and The Angry Inch book by John Cameron Mitchell, and music and lyrics by Stephen Trask and his 50th anniversary production of HAIR -The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical.

He is currently directing Junie B. Jones The Musical at the brand new The Argyle Theatre. He is also currently directing the stage adaptation of his favorite album, Green Day’s American Idiot at Smithtown Center for The Performing Arts.

When he's not directing, he spends most of his time writing autobiographical short stories that he hopes to string together into a self scripted solo performance before the end of the year. Tommy has been working as the lead teaching artist at Smithtown Center for The Performing Arts for the past six years and also serves as a private acting and audition coach, specializing in college auditioning.

Tommy holds a BFA in Drama Directing from New York University.
